FEBRUARY - MARCH 2009 : A year of opportunity, despite the uncertainty !

First, as the year has just started and this is our initial publication of 2009, it is our delight at Canadian Opportunities to wish you all the very best in your personal lives and in business.
A new year is always a time to reflect on the past and set objectives for the future, with a deep desire that today and tomorrow grant us more and better things than yesterday.
Yet, many start 2009 with caution, worries and less ambitions because all we hear from analysts and the media is one scary word: crisis. But as one said: “I hear about it, but I’ve decided not to participate in it.”
As business people and companies, it all comes down to the perspective you choose. Opportunities can be plenty in gloomy times if we dare to look closer and seize them. Our expert columnists give you sound advices and great insight and information to navigate successfully in this year’s troubled waters. For instance, why not consider self-employment to avoid being at the mercy of an employer’s need to cut costs and lay off personnel ?
Our special report on the automotive industry, which is directly affected by the economic situation, offers very interesting ideas to position yourself and make it anyway. Besides the food industry, the auto sector is the one that has been the most dynamic in Canada in recent years. Franchises in that sector shouldn’t be overlooked.
Also in this issue, our cover story on the fast-expanding direct sales company: ARBONNE Canada. Synonymous of beauty, skin care and natural and high quality products, Arbonne is conquering the country from coast to coast, through a dynamic and motivated team of independent consultants. The humanitarian and environmentally focused vision of its Norvegian founder Petter Mørck is gaining ground and making a difference.
Of course, we have included and updated our GUIDE of the best franchises and business opportunities available in order to help you find the business concept or contacts right for you.
Flexibility, creativity, motivation and optimism are all the more necessary this year to be successful in business. We wish you all a healthy dose of each and great results to go with it !
