Whether you are a professional or amateur chef, Liaison College offers a unique training concept that sizzles.

With ten franchise locations in Ontario, making Liaison College the largest trainer of chefs, training is convenient -- you no longer have to put your culinary dreams on the back burner.

In 1996, Rudy Florio (an ex CFLer) and Susanne Mikler (RBC Woman of the Year nominee) decided to combine their commitment to adult training and their passion for food into culinary programs.

Liaison College (Canada's Food News 2008 Readers Choice winner) is a registered private career college that is able to grant diplomas and offer tuition tax receipts.

In addition to the professional culinary training programs, Liaison College offers a wide range of recreational (think "kitchen therapy") and group classes.

A new twist to the corporate team session is a cooking class where the participants will work together on a delicious meal and then enjoy their efforts at a sit down dinner. Some groups even complement this with wine pairings.

Cooking has become a fast growing trend in recent years. With the tremendous influence of the Food Network and new eating habits (100 Mile Diet, Atkins, Zone, organics to name a few), we are more than ever returning to our kitchens with a vengeance.

The focus these days is on buying local and fresh foods that are delicious and nutritious and limiting our intake of processed and packaged foods. Essentially, our palates are changing and the change requires some skill in the kitchen. Anyone who has frequented the market knows the array of produce is mind-boggling.

Liaison College takes away the culinary fear factor and focuses on skills to enable even the most un-foodie cook to make any recipe without a second thought. We feed your passion.

Recreational classes are a quick start program to your culinary success: take in a pasta class, learn how to make sausage, grill to perfection, cure your craving for chocolate or take the plunge in "boot camp" (a tasty series that focuses on kitchen essentials like knife skills, stocks and sauces).

Liaison College diploma programs are the perfect answer to starting out (young students starting their first career) and starting over (mature students taking on their second, third or ninth career).

We routinely hear from students that they have an opportunity to take training and are going to make it count with something they love - cooking!

We have converted bankers, accountants, administrators, appraisers, OR nurses and even lawyers to the amazing and complex industry of food.

Our graduates are working in hotels, restaurants, resorts, golf clubs, cruises, spas, catering, institutional kitchens and some are launching their own business as a Personal Chef (Liaison College offers Canada's only Personal Chef Diploma program).

It is hard to find a kitchen between Kingston and Kitchener that does not have a Liaison College grad in it... even Queen's Park is on the list!

Our professional advisory board and industry affiliations (with such prestigious groups as Cuisine Canada, Women in Food Industry Management, Canadian Culinary Federation and the Canadian Chef Educators Association) ensure that Liaison College is on the "cutting edge" of culinary training.

The proof is in the pudding: this year's Culinary member of Team Ontario for Skills Canada is a Liaison College student.

Franchise expansion plans include Ottawa, Niagara, Windsor and London. Our research shows that the Liaison College model has potential across Canada, too. From the grid iron to the griddle, the sky is the limit for this culinary duo.
